Chloe Jones-Shearn - Dip. Therapeutic Counselling & Psychotherapy. BSc Psychology.

Person Centred & Transactional Analysis

I’m a Person-centred therapist committed to helping you learn to accept yourself, empowering you to reach your potential, build resilience and develop healthy relationships with yourself and others.

My work focuses on the therapeutic relationship, providing a space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential space.

I have had my own counselling and trained in 2019, this learning continues with a completion of a Masters in 2022.

A bit about me

I graduated from University in 2008 with a Psychology degree and desired to a pursue a career in this area, however it was not until some time later that I found my way to counselling. For me it was a lightbulb moment, a vocation that I had been searching for, for the first time I felt I was where I needed to be, no longer having to portray a character that I was not to survive in the corporate world. Finding out who you are is incredibly empowering and an opportunity that everyone should have.

After deciding to change careers I did much soul searching, when I returned to my roots of Psychology I decided that helping others with their mental health was definitely what I wanted to do, however I wanted to work holistically, away from diagnosis and medication.

I believe it is vitally important to be flexible and adapt to each individual; as well as being grounded in Person centred therapy I am able to offer CBT based interventions and am currently studying other approaches including transactional analysis (TA) and creative therapy.

I believe it’s beneficial to be in touch with your own physical experience as well as your emotional one, unfortunately this is a connection that many of us have lost with how busy our lives are and how over stimulated our senses are, I can offer breathwork to help build that connection.

I have a passion for working with people who live with anxiety and supporting those have experienced bereavement.

Some of the areas I can help you with include;

Grief/Loss

Depression/low mood

Anxiety and social anxiety

Sexual orientation/Gender identity

Body image

Work related stress
