About Me

Hello, I’m Suzanne,
I’m an HCPC registered Chartered Educational Child Psychologist and CBT therapist offering a safe, calm space for children, young people and families who are finding life overwhelming or uncertain. I work with children and young people aged 8-25 and their parents. I have specialist experience and passion in the following areas:

* Post-ASD/ADHD diagnosis support and acceptance (for children, young people and parents/carers).
ï‚· * Supporting children and parents/carers navigating school attendance difficulties
ï‚· * Therapeutic support for care-experienced young people.
ï‚· * Providing a therapeutic space for parents/carers struggling to manage with the
stressors implicit in loving and supporting children with SEN and mental health

Many families come to me after receiving a new neurodevelopmental diagnosis, feeling unsure what it really means in day-to-day life. I help children and parents understand the strengths and challenges that come with ASD/ADHD, make sense of identity changes, and begin building strategies that feel affirming, compassionate and grounded in real experience.
I am committed to supporting parents in navigating the significant emotional and practical demands of parenting a neurodivergent child, providing a therapeutic space in which they can process, adapt, and develop confidence in their evolving role.

I also support children/young people who are finding it difficult to attend school. This is often due to anxiety, overwhelm, sensory needs, past experiences or unmet need. In therapy, we explore what sits beneath the distress, help the child feel emotionally safe, and support parents to understand the patterns that maintain the difficulty. My focus is on restoring confidence, reducing fear, and helping families move forward with greater stability and hope.
If needed, I can also link up with school to facilitate re-engagement.

Alongside this, I offer therapeutic work for care-experienced young people who may be carrying painful histories. Many of the young people I work with want a space to understand their experiences, make sense of how these have shaped their beliefs about themselves, and develop a stronger, more empowered sense of identity. Therapy gives them a space where they are heard, respected and supported as they imagine a positive future.

Across all my work, my approach is gentle, relational and paced carefully around your needs. Together, we explore emotions, experiences and belief systems, while also developing practical, everyday coping strategies you can use outside of the therapy room. My aim is that you, or your child, feel heard, supported, understood, and equipped to move forward with confidence.

If you’re looking for a therapeutic space that feels safe, validating and genuinely
collaborative, I’d be honoured to support you on the journey ahead.

My background
I was born and raised in Liverpool, and after completing my undergraduate degree and later my Doctorate in Educational Child Psychology at the University of Sheffield, I returned home to work within the communities I care deeply about. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked across schools, outreach teams, a therapy service, and local authority educational psychology services, supporting children, young people and families in a wide range of
contexts.

Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in working with neurodiverse children and young people, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, low mood, and the impact of relational and developmental trauma. This breadth of experience has given me a deeply holistic understanding of the factors that shape a child or young person’s wellbeing, identity and behaviour.

Bringing together my educational psychology background and therapeutic training allows me to offer a unique, integrated psycho-therapeutic approach. I’m passionate about supporting children, young people and parents who are finding life overwhelming, helping them make sense of their experiences, feel understood, and move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
