About me
Hi, I'm Laura,
Originally from the North East of England, I settled in the North West after a short career as cabin crew, where I realised my true calling was to work in a more supportive role helping others.
My journey into counselling began in prison education and developed further through careers guidance and coaching, before I went on to qualify as an integrative counsellor. Along the way, I have been fortunate to support people from many different walks of life.
I have previously worked as a volunteer counsellor with Age UK Wirral and the NSPCC. These roles have deepened my understanding of how people cope with emotional pain, trauma, and uncertainty, and just how resilient we can be when we have the right support in place.

My Approach
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be troubling you at your own pace. Whether you're feeling lost, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself lately, counselling can be a
place where you feel heard, maybe for the first time in a long time.
You may be:
Struggling with low mood, energy, or self-worth. Living with anxiety, depression, or panic. Finding it hard to cope with stress, at work, home, or in relationships. Feeling distant from others or even from yourself. Carrying a sense of being unseen, unimportant, or not accepted for who you are.
If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone. Reaching out for help can be daunting. It takes courage to let someone in. I offer a relaxed setting where you can talk at your own pace, in your own way. There’s no pressure to have the right words, just a gentle invitation to begin where you are.
Sometimes, we can be surrounded by people and still feel deeply alone. When you're holding in painful thoughts or emotions, life can feel heavy and disconnected. Together, we can begin to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, helping you make sense of your feelings and patterns, and move toward healing and change.
I work primarily from a person-centred approach meaning you are at the heart of each session, what you bring to talk about is what we will look at together. I’ll help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be integrated into sessions if this feels right for you — offering strategies that support you in moving forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Areas I can offer support
I support adults (18+) with a wide range of issues, including:
● Anxiety and social anxiety
● Stress and burnout
● Depression and low mood
● Life transitions
