My breadth of experience enables me to work confidently and compassionately with a diverse range of individuals and life experiences whilst recognising that every person and every experience is different. My aim is to understand you as a whole person and to create a space where you can explore what is happening for you, at your own pace.

What does being person-centred mean to me?

Being person-centred means that I believe in building upon a trusting, open and supportive relationship where you, as the client, take us where you need to go in our sessions. My role is to listen, understand and truly get to know you; what matters to you, your values, your morals and the life experiences that have shaped how you see the world and yourself.

Therapy may sound scary or overwhelming, but really, we are just two people trying to figure out your world together and reach a shared understanding. My personal philosophy is not ‘what is wrong with you, it’s what has happened to you’.

Although I do not believe in limiting individuals to a diagnosis, I recognise that giving language to a set of symptoms may support people with understanding their experience. Therefore, I have knowledge and experience of supporting people with the following mental health concerns:

• Anxiety and depression
• Bipolar disorder and psychosis
• Suicidal thoughts and self-harm
• Eating disorders and body dysmorphia
• Trauma

• OCD

Life experiences and transitions:
• Hormonal changes including; perimenopause, menopause, pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder/PMS
• Bereavement and child loss
• Miscarriage and fertility difficulties
• Relationship issues
• Major life transitions

Neurodivergence and identity:
• ADHD
• Autism
• Understanding yourself and your relationships through a neurodivergent lens

About me:
I’m 34, married and a mum I began my career in mental health nursing around 10 years ago driven by my passion for understanding what leads people to think, feel and behave the way we do. In my early 20s, I moved to Australia, where I spent three years working and travelling. I’m a keen traveller and enjoy experiencing different parts of the world and learning about different cultures and perspectives.

I retrained as a psychotherapist because throughout my career i experienced first hand the lasting impact that therapy can have on an individual’s journey. Additionally, I have personally benefited hugely from my own experience of therapy which influenced my decision to enter this field.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading and listening to podcasts, particularly true crime. I’m also a big food lover and enjoy spending quality time with my extended family.
