Louise Kaemena - Counsellor & Psychotherapist.

Person Centred, CBT & Psychodynamic.

BACP (Reg) Children 12+, Young People & Adults

Hi I’m Louise, an integrative, person-centred counsellor working with adults and young people aged 12+.

I believe counselling is so much more than simply talking to someone and being listened to. For me, it is about creating an environment that enables someone to feel safe enough to open up about their innermost thoughts, feelings and experiences, knowing they will not be judged, but genuinely heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental and my work is grounded in safe practice. Using a person-centred approach, the sessions are focused on you and what you want to explore. As a trauma informed therapist, I recognise the importance of working in a way that is non-threatening and at a pace that feels right for you. I am also trained to use psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) approaches, when beneficial to you.

Areas of counselling offered
Many of my clients come to counselling after they have carried things alone for a long time, believing what they are carrying is
not worthy of support, or thinking they should be able to figure things out for themselves.

Whether your issues are long- standing, happened in the past or are something you are dealing with now, there is space for them here.

Areas I work with:
 Bereavement
 Work related stress and burnout
 Anxiety and depression
 Infertility
 Pregnancy loss, childbirth trauma and perinatal mental health
 Domestic abuse
 Past childhood trauma

Working with Young People
Young people are often very receptive to counselling as it provides a space where they can open -up and work through whatever
is troubling them.
My work with young people covers: anxiety, peer pressure, low self-esteem, exam stress, bereavement, neurodiversity, abuse and trauma.
